Our History

Goodman Financial Group was founded in 1919 by Leonard A. Goodman, Sr. and Karl P. Goodman. Originally called Goodman Brothers Insurance and Real Estate, the first offices were in the old Martin building in downtown El Paso. In 1945, Leonard Goodman, Sr. purchased the John Hancock Life Insurance franchise for this region and Karl P. Goodman headed the real estate portion of the business. In 1982 the name of the firm was changed to Goodman Financial Group, to reflect the expanded services provided to its clients.

In 1965, Leonard Goodman, Jr. purchased the firm from his father and in 1988 Leonard Goodman, III purchased it from his father. For three generations and for more than a hundred years, the Goodman Financial Group has been a respected and award-winning provider of health insurance, investments, and life insurance products.
